Pascal was a Frenchman, a great thinker, who looked beyond the limits of reason. What he said above is true. We can explain our loving and being loved only by the heart. It is not a matter of atoms and molecules. God's love for us is the same. It is a miracle, an act of grace. God was in Christ, loving us with an infinite love. Only the heart (or soul) can apprehend that. The mind can lead us to the proper ground to believe, as C. S. Lewis said, but it is the heart that knows God.
